This is a beautiful blue bukhara carpet. Only a very skilled and diligent weaver can produce this rare carpet. in our novel, we learn how Iqbal weaved this carpet all by himself, however, right before it was going to be sold by Hussain Khan he Iqbal did something very surprising to this exquisite piece of art. Explain both what he did and why you think he did it.
He took the knife riped it and smiled.i think he did it because he wanted him to kick himm out of the sweat shop to tell the police. Or i think he did that because he wanted to be punished because he treated the others bad and him like a good little doggy.
ReplyDeleteIqbal broke the carpet in half. The book doesn't say why but I think it's because he thinks Hussain is cruel and Iqbal knows child labor is EXTREMELY bad and UNFAIR. Also because Iqbal knows that Hussain is never going to let him free.
ReplyDeleteyah i don't think it's fair to work for no money either nor i think it's fair that child labor is still happenning around the world
DeleteCHILDREN HAVE RIGHTS AND THOSE ARE TO LIVE THEIR CHILDHOOD AS HAPPY AS NEVER
It's true, the book doesn't say why Iqbal chose to rip the carpet in half, but I think your idea about why he did it is both interesting and insightful.
DeleteIqbal showed it to Hussain Khan and made Hussain Khan so happy, until he ripped it in two right in front of Hussain Khans eyes. When he ripped it Hussain Khan's face turned red and he sent Iqbal into the tomb for 3 days. His friends, like Fatima, snuck him food everynight until Hussain Khan let him out. I think Iqbal tore the carpet to prove to Hussain Khan that he is not afraid of him and to prove that nothing, i mean nothing can bother him or stand in his way.
ReplyDeleteVery insightful Solane!
DeleteWhy do you think he decided to rip the carpet?
ReplyDeleteWhat would he get out of cutting it up?
Discover who is in the tomb so then he finds a way to sneak in and get them out of there before it is too late .....
Deletei think he would get something good from his friends out of it and also i think it was awsome
DeleteIqbalripped the carpet in half and then ripped the one half of the carpet into shreds and did that with the other half. I thnk he did the to show Hussain Khan that hi is not afraid of him and he is treating the kids real unfair and cruel and that he should stop doing that!
ReplyDeleteI think you are right Eva, Iqbal was probably think exactly this while he ripped the carpet.
DeleteYea I think it's true Eva.
DeleteThat is right,I think iqbal riped it to not be bossed around
Deletehe realy got husain with that move
Deletehe is awesome
ya go iqbal yay cool juan (what you said)
Deletepaula um i like yours but you should of put a little more detail
ReplyDeleteEva, didnt he just rip it in half? I am not sure maybe you are right but i... i dont know, hahaha. But i think that you are t=right saying that he did that to show Hussain Khan that he is not afraid of him.
ReplyDeleteHe definitely ripped up the carpet, right before the eyes of his Master, and whats more, he did it just before the rich customers arrived to purchase the valuable carpet!
