  1. I think child labor is very cruel even though the kid needs the money. It is very sad how kids are treated by abuse. Sometimes the boss will cheat and will put more marks so they would stay and work harder and more and so they would stay a longer period. I think they should stop child labor a make school in which students can start having some education.

    1. I really like your comment, you really seem to understand this book and Iqbal very well. You are right, they should stop making the kids work so much and let them study.

  2. Good saying Odile! But um, I think that child labor is terrible and that it should be against the law. I also learnt that more than two hundred million children between 5 and 17 are working just like Iqbal and Fatima and about 75 million of them are under the age of 10 and 6 million are working in conditions of "forced or handed labor". In my opinion they should send people around the world to find these sweatshops and put them to an end. END CHILD LABOR!

  3. From my point of view i think child labor is so cruel. The kids need the money but why cant they make it another way i mean it would be better. Child labor is so cruel the masters all take a way a tick and then when the kid falls asleep he will add it back again. i think it is so cruel and i think it should be stopped today.another thing if i were in a sweat shop i would just be good so hye would be nicer but i guess iqbal doesnt understand.the kids need education but what about they do it anothwer way how about that huh that would be even nicer from my point of view. I HATE CHILD LABOR IT SHOULD BE STOPPED NOW FOR CRYING OUT LOUD AND IF THE PRESIDENT OF PAKISTAN SEE'S THIS I HOPE HE STOPS IT AND IF HE DOESNT BOY IS HE GONNA GET IT FROM ME !!!!. i think iqbal should of stood up for him self like he did cause you know what if he didnt he would be the new pet of hussain khan and throw fatima out and treat her like trash and i dont think iqbal wanted it

  4. I've learned a lot about child labor. CHILD LABOR IS REALLY BAD!!!!!!!!!!! There are about two hundred million children between the ages of five and seven-teen economically active. About 75 million of them are under the age of ten. About six million are working in conditions of forced or bonded labor.

  6. Modern Child Labor is with whips and hitting with bats and stuff and in Iqbal time it was with slaves and stuff, they are mean to them and force them to do work! Modern Child labor they kiddnap children of the street or they abuse there own children!!!!!!! In the USA there is a law aginst that and they are trying to stop it.

  7. i think that child labor is really bad because the children dosent really have any time at all to experience what being in your childhood really is or really feels like wich is really bad too and unfair because for a real children childhood is as good as something you will never feel like never again !!!!!!!!! :( :(

  8. It’s the cruelest thing you can do to a kid because your making them work like animals in a sweat shop where you sweat a lot and because you can’t see your family until you 18, they have to stop doing this because the kids won’t go to school our university. These kids are working the whole day. There are two hundred million children in the world who are working in sweat shops making bricks and carpets and a whole bunch of other things that we use in daily life. So the next time you see your carpet why not wonder where it came from…
